For all of our services, the data controller is Sterling Spinal Wellness Limited. In order to receive our health care services, you choose to enter an agreement with us. In this agreement we are responsible to store and process your personal data as we have a legitimate interest in contacting you via email, telephone and SMS. You are always free to opt out of receiving communication from us. 

How we use personal information 

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you so we can perform our contractual duty of care. As a patron of SSW, when you contact our clinic to make an appointment, you provide us with consent to process your information. We have a legitimate cause to contact you for reasons such as sharing confidential health information, reminding you about appointments, keeping you up-to-date with relevant news and information about the clinic and providing relevant health promoting information.

Additional information we collect and process includes; previous medical history, examination notes, treatment notes, appointments, previous health investigation reports and payments. 

Confidentiality

Our chiropractors are regulated by the General Chiropractic Council. We require your written consent before we share any of your personal or medical records with anyone outside of our clinic.

Sharing your information 

We will never sell, distribute or lease your data to any third party.

Cookies 

A cookie is a small text file which asks permission to be downloaded onto your computer or smartphone when you visit our website. It allows the website to recognise your device each time you access the website, and will store some information about your preferences or past actions.

Your information is securely stored.

By law, we are required to retain your personal information for up to seven years from your last visit. Your data is encrypted and stored securely in the UK on a cloud-based electronic medical records portal called Cliniko. This information is only accessible via a password protected access by our practitioners and administrators.   

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

• Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

• Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

• Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

• Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

We reserve the right to update our privacy policy to reflect changes in how we provide our services to you with respect to GDPR laws. You are encouraged to stay familiar with our privacy policy however we will inform you if many significant changes occur.
